Cutting from Liverpool Daily Post and Mercury, report of speech by WSC to Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, 5 May, on the Government's Colonial policy, railway and river development, the cotton trade and the needs of Lancashire. Published Complete Speeches I, pp.618-624, under the title, "The Development of the Crown Colonies".

Printed pamphlet, speech by WSC "Liberalism and Socialism", St Andrew's Hall, Glasgow. Published Complete Speeches I, pp.671-677 [Described by Rhodes-James as one of the most important of WSC's early speeches, it contains some of the most radical proposals WSC had yet made, including advovacy of the nationalisation of the railways].
